All of us here, maybe some, experience having Investigatory Projects especially in our High school days. I am just wondering if you can give me some idea of your Investigatory Projects way back in your HS days. I really need it so badly.
We have no certain topic in conducting our Investigatory Project.
Please suggest a topic I must focus.
Sorry for the poor grammar.

We had an investigatory project during my junior year (Chemistry). Mine was about electricity from saltwater, found it from the internet. It's somewhat difficult to do and the materials required are pricey. It's supposed to be a group project, but it turned out that I was the only one who worked for it. Anyway, I've got the right to give 50s and 60s to my members.

oh i remember my investigatory project, it was a garlic extract as a mosquito repeller, it was a group project and we got 2nd to the science convention - it was inter school, wahaha
i was so happy then, even though our project is not unique, and that time, the dengue outbreak is somewhat famous
wahaha.

yes you're right about these investigatory projects.. i am basically on the process of doing it.. Iam the leader of our group and we have chosen the topic on herbal medicines.. well, we thought of it because its cheaper...since the herbal we are using is very common in all our backyards, and it gives a really big solutions.. so, we try to make it, into a herbal drink..
wel, good luck on your project...

doing an invistigatory project means doing your own unique research about things and its efficacy if you will suggest to get it from the internet then...you must be copying and thats what so called plagiarism...thats bad!

what level?division or regional?
my suggestion:
i suggest you make a sip(science invistigatory proj.) that will take effect of todays most violent diseases or that will help improve the science of nowadays..
my project back then 9in HS was:Chilli pepper as an anti-bacterial agent on salmonella E. which causes diseases such as LBM..and so on and forth!..
try to research any plants that has its unique composition that will help any criterium of disease....

IMHO, it isn't plagiarism. Actually, there's nothing wrong about that. Investigatory projects, as called by most people, means research projects that students tend to search out and examine the particulars of in an attempt to learn the facts about something hidden, unique, or complex, especially in an attempt to find a motive or cause. It's about finding how this and that work. And if it's plagiarized, my teacher would've rejected my topic proposal in the first place, and my project won't be the Best Output among the others.

i get ur point..but for the fact that you have just got it the number one source of infos which is the internet therefore when you join contest such as in the national level of science fair where in you will defend your sip..you will be questioned by the members of the pannel for the reason that you didnt formulized your own unique topic whereas the tru meaning and motive is to comeup with a product that will produce several benefits to the society...
we, as dost scholars having are provided with manuals that will help as make a topic wherein number one rule in the manual i have said listed on it is:
invistigate such topic that will come up with a product that is uniquely made by your own brain..
in your case...you have just copied the steps how to do it..the instruments and etc.. thats wrong...you should improvize that topic or else thats what we call plagiarism..and maybe your teacher didnt knew that it was just copied 100 percent from the internet...
@topic..
make a unique topic that will integrate new and unique product or theory that will benefit the society especially the science society!

Nice thread, that's also my problem.

this research project is a big help in our economy it's used to identify the productiveness and health etc. of chicken
and can determine if a chicken is essentially fitted on the market etc. lols
we are already done about that ip and as a result of our discovery we won the first price in our science fair
|
we had our investigatory project when i was in first year highschool.
it was really hard.
our topic was all about banana peels, which we tried to covert as a decorative paper.
it was successful though, even if we thought it wouldn't be.
